Qualified at Birmingham University in 1978, continuously pursuing his postgraduate studies he gained his MFGDP(UK) in 1993. He was in the second cohort of the Faculty of General Dental Practice Implant Training programme, which has become a benchmark for implant training in the UK.
A Fellow of The Faculty of General Dental Practice, he has recently become one of the first practitioners in the country to be awarded the Diploma in Leadership and Management by the Royal College.
With over twenty years of implant experience using a number of systems, Richard has over placed 1500 implants with a great success. He is a holder of the Advanced Certificate in Bone Grafting for Surgeons from the Faculty at the Royal College and is able to provide sedation for patients for both implant-related treatment and other dental procedures.
His commitment to a programme of continual learning ensures that all patients are delivered a gold standard of dental care. He is the local Study Club Director for the ITI - an organisation aimed at furthering implant education, raising standards for the patients benefit.
Married to Sue, sons Nick and Tom and daughter Alex. To his family’s dismay he is an eternal student now working towards an MSc.
Outside of work he is a passionate skier, an aging squash player who loves cooking, fine wine and wishes he could do more sailing.
